AN ACT concerning
State Police - Cease Fire Council - Transfer to the Governor's Office of
Crime Control and Prevention
FOR the purpose of transferring the administration of the Cease Fire Council from
the Department of State Police to the Governor's Office of Crime Control and
Prevention; providing that the Governor's Office of Crime Control and
Prevention shall provide staff to the Cease Fire Council; providing that the
Assistant Attorney General assigned to the Governor's Office of Crime Control
and Prevention is the legal advisor to the Council; and generally relating to the
Cease Fire Council and the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Public Safety
5-502.
(a) There is a Cease Fire Council in the [Department of State Police]
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION.
(b) (1) The Council consists of 11 members.
(2) Of the 11 members of the Council:
(i) one shall be the Secretary of Juvenile Services or a designee;
(ii) one shall be the Secretary of State Police or a designee;
(iii) one shall be the Secretary of Public Safety and Correctional
Services or a designee;
(iv) one shall be the Executive Director of the Governor's Office of
Crime Control and Prevention or a designee;
