WHEREAS, Communities throughout Maryland benefit from contributing to
activities that enhance public awareness of State discrimination laws and
improvement of equal opportunity for all; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 49B - Human Relations Commission
3.
(a) (1) The Commission may make surveys and studies concerning human
relations, conditions, and problems, and it may promote in every way possible the
betterment of human relations.
(2) On the basis of studies or surveys, the Commission may recommend
to the Governor additional legislation or changes in existing legislation.
(3) In making studies and surveys, it may expend any funds provided for
in the budget or otherwise made available.
(4) THE COMMISSION MAY APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT GIFTS AND GRANTS
FROM STATE, FEDERAL, AND PRIVATE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN
FURTHERANCE OF ITS MISSION.
. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October 1, 2005.

(Senate Bill 527)
AN ACT concerning
Dorchester County - Alcoholic Beverages - Hours for Sale and Consumption
FOR the purpose of altering certain hours for sale for holders of certain alcoholic
beverages licenses in Dorchester County; altering the time that on-sale
consumption of alcoholic beverages must end; altering the time by which tables
and bar areas must be cleared of alcoholic beverages; and generally relating to
the hours for sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in Dorchester County.
