CHAPTER 205
(House Bill 1409) AN ACT concerning Frederick County - County Commissioners - Residency Requirements FOR the purpose of requiring a candidate for County Commissioner of Frederick
County to have been a resident and registered voter of Frederick County for a
certain minimum time immediately preceding the election; prohibiting a County
Commissioner who no longer resides in the County from continuing as a County
Commissioner; making this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating
to the County Commissioners of Frederick County. BY adding to The Public Local Laws of Frederick County Section 2-2-19 Article 11 - Public Local Laws of Maryland (2004 Edition and June 2005 Supplement, as amended) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article 11 - Frederick County 2-2-19. (A)     A CANDIDATE FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER SHALL HAVE BEEN BE A
RESIDENT AND REGISTERED VOTER OF FREDERICK COUNTY FOR AT LEAST 6
MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE DATE OF ELECTION. (B)     A COUNTY COMMISSIONER WHO NO LONGER RESIDES IN FREDERICK
COUNTY MAY NOT CONTINUE AS A COUNTY COMMISSIONER SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an emergency
measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health or safety,
has been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from
