(House Bill 699)
AN ACT concerning
Agriculture - Preservation of Historic Structures
FOR the purpose of establishing the Maryland Advisory Committee on Historic
Agricultural Structure Preservation; providing for the membership, term, and
compensation of the Committee; establishing a Maryland Barn Preservation
Fund to preserve historic agricultural structures; providing that the Fund is a
special, nonlapsing fund; providing for the uses of the Fund; requiring the Board
of Public Works to make certain grants from the Fund; requiring the Committee
to make a certain report to the Governor and the General Assembly; requiring
the Department of Planning to adopt certain regulations; requiring a recipient of
a grant or a certain subsequent owner to make certain repayment under certain
circumstances; requiring a certain recordation in certain land records; defining
certain terms; and generally relating to the preservation of historic agricultural
structures.

Section 5A-401 through 5A-406, inclusive, to be under the new subtitle
"Subtitle 4. Agricultural Structures"

(A) IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.
(B) "COMMITTEE" MEANS THE MARYLAND ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON
HISTORIC AGRICULTURAL STRUCTURE PRESERVATION.
(C) "FUND" MEANS THE MARYLAND BARN PRESERVATION FUND.
