AN ACT concerning
|

Carroll County - Sheriff's Salary
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
FOR the purpose of increasing the annual salary of the Sheriff of Carroll County to a
certain amount over a certain time period; providing that this Act does not apply
to the salary or compensation of the incumbent Sheriff of Carroll County; and
generally relating to the salary of the Sheriff of Carroll County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(h) (1) The Sheriff of Carroll County shall receive an annual salary as
follows:
[(i) $50,000 beginning December 3, 2002;
(ii) $55,000 beginning December 1, 2003;
(iii) $60,000 beginning December 6, 2004; and
(iv) $65,000 beginning December 1, 2005 and thereafter.]
(I) $71,532 BEGINNING DECEMBER 5, 2006;
(II) $72,963 BEGINNING DECEMBER 4, 2007;
(III) $74,422 BEGINNING DECEMBER 9, 2008; AND
(IV) $75,910 BEGINNING DECEMBER 8, 2009, AND THEREAFTER
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III, §
35 of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to
the salary or compensation of the Sheriff of Carroll County in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or compensation
of the Sheriff of Carroll County shall take effect at the beginning of the next following
term of office.
