BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 10 - Legal Officials
Section 40(k)(l)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 10 - Legal Officials
40.
(k) (1) In Frederick County, the State's Attorney's annual salary shall be
[90%] 100% of the salary of a judge of the District Court of Maryland.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III, §
35 of the Maryland Constitution, this Act may not be construed to extend or apply to
the salary or compensation of the State's Attorney for Frederick County in office on
the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the State's Attorney for Frederick County shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2006.

(House Bill 166)
AN ACT concerning
Workers' Compensation - Timing of Benefit Payments, Filing Issues, and
Processing Claims
FOR the purpose of altering the timing of certain requirements for employers or
insurers to pay certain benefits or file certain issues to contest claims so as to
occur within a certain number of days after the mailing of a notice of the filing
of a claim; altering the time period after which the Workers' Compensation
Commission may assess certain fines; altering the period of time in which the
Commission is required to deny or approve a claim; and generally relating to
workers' compensation claims.
