(1) THE PRINCE GEORGE'S AUTHORITY CONSISTS OF SEVEN
COMMISSIONERS NOMINATED BY THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE AND CONFIRMED BY THE
COUNTY COUNCIL.
(2) THE COUNTY COUNCIL SHALL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE
VOTING WHETHER TO CONFIRM EACH NOMINEE.
(B) TENURE; VACANCIES.
(1) THE TERM OF A PRINCE GEORGE'S AUTHORITY COMMISSIONER IS 5
YEARS.
(2) THE TERMS OF COMMISSIONERS ARE STAGGERED AS REQUIRED BY
THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS SERVING ON OCTOBER 1, 2006.
(3) AT THE END OF A TERM, A COMMISSIONER CONTINUES TO SERVE
UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
(4) A COMMISSIONER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS BEGUN
SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THAT TERM AND UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED
AND QUALIFIES.
(C) REMOVAL.
THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE MAY REMOVE A COMMISSIONER WITH THE APPROVAL
OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 44A, § 4-102(b)(3), (4), the first sentence of (2),
and, as it related to the number of Commissioners, (1), and the last clause
of § 4-102(1).
In subsection (a)(1) of this section, the former reference to. the
Commissioners "exercising the powers and duties set forth in this [Division
II]" is deleted as surplusage.
In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the reference to terms being staggered
as required by the terms provided for Commissioners on "October 1, 2006"
is substituted for the former obsolete reference to terms being staggered as
required by the terms provided on "July 1, 1983". This substitution is not
intended to alter the term of any member of the Prince George's Authority.

October 1, 2006, end as follows: (1) one Commissioner on October 24, 2006;
(2) three Commissioners on October 24, 2007; (3) one Commissioner on
October 24, 2008; and (4) two Commissioners on October 24, 2009.

THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE SHALL CHOOSE THE CHAIR OF THE PRINCE GEORGE'S
AUTHORITY FROM AMONG ITS COMMISSIONERS.
