|
NOTE: The Maryland Constitution, Article III, Section 15 provides for the
compensation of the General Assembly to be set every four years by the General
Assembly Compensation Commission. The provisions of the General Assembly
Compensation Commission Report dated January 2006 were read and ordered
journalized in the Senate of Maryland on January 18, 2006 and in the House of
Delegates on January 18, 2006. Since the report was not introduced as a joint
resolution, rejection of its recommendations was amended into the Governor's Salary
Commission Resolution (Senate Joint Resolution 2/House Joint Resolution 1 — both
passed). The result is that there will be no changes in the salary or other
compensation for members of the General Assembly or the Governor for the term
beginning January 10, 2007.
