EXPENSES, INCURRED IN THE DISCHARGE OF THE COMMISSIONER'S DUTIES. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 44A, § 1-210. The former reference to a legislative body "of the local jurisdiction" is
deleted as implicit in the reference to a "legislative body". Defined terms: "Authority" § 12-101
"Legislative body" § 12-101 12-308. STAFF. (A)     STAFF. (1)      AN AUTHORITY MAY EMPLOY: (I)      A SECRETARY, WHO SHALL SERVE AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR;
AND (II)     TECHNICAL EXPERTS AND OTHER OFFICERS, AGENTS, AND
EMPLOYEES, PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY. (2)      AN AUTHORITY SHALL DETERMINE THE QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES,
AND COMPENSATION OF ITS EMPLOYEES. (B)     LEGAL SERVICES. FOR LEGAL SERVICES, AN AUTHORITY MAY USE THE CHIEF LAW OFFICER OF
THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OR MAY EMPLOY ITS OWN COUNSEL AND LEGAL STAFF. (C)     DELEGATION OF POWERS AND DUTIES. AN AUTHORITY MAY DELEGATE TO ONE OR MORE OF ITS AGENTS OR

AN AUTHORITY IS: (1) A LOCAL OFFICIAL FOR THE PURPOSES OF TITLE 15, SUBTITLE 8,
PART I OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE AND SUBJECT TO LOCAL ETHICS LAWS;
