The Honorable Michael E. Busch
Speaker of the House
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed House Bill 968 — Natural Resources - Hunting Via an Internet Connection -
Prohibition.
This bill prohibits a person from shooting at or killing a bird or animal in the State
with a gun or other device operated or accessed via an Internet connection;
establishes a penalty; and requires the revocation of the hunting privilege or hunting
license of a person who is convicted of an offense under the Act.
Senate Bill 521, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 968.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
