House Bill 689, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 899.

AN ACT concerning
Dorchester County - Alcoholic Beverages - Bottle Clubs
FOR the purpose of prohibiting a bottle club in Dorchester County from selling,
giving, serving, dispensing, keeping, or allowing to be consumed alcoholic
beverages and certain other beverages; prohibiting an unlicensed business from
knowingly allowing customers to bring alcoholic beverages for consumption into
an unlicensed building; establishing a certain penalty for a violation of this Act;
authorizing the Board of License Commissioners to grant a certain waiver of the
provisions of this Act; requiring the Board to adopt certain regulations; defining
a certain term; and generally relating to bottle clubs in Dorchester County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
20-105.1.
(A) IN THIS SECTION, "BOTTLE CLUB" MEANS A CLUB, ROOM, OR PREMISES:
(1) THAT SERVES, SELLS, GIVES, OR DISPENSES ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
TO ITS MEMBERS OR GUESTS;
(2) THAT KEEPS FOR ITS MEMBERS OR GUESTS ANY ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES;
(3) THAT ALLOWS TO BE CONSUMED BY ITS MEMBERS OR GUESTS ON
ITS PREMISES ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES THAT HAVE BEEN RESERVED OR
PURCHASED BY THE MEMBERS OR GUESTS;
