Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 898 - Dorchester County - Transfer Tax Revenues - Use for Costs of
School Buildings.
This bill authorizes the County Council for Dorchester County to use specified
revenues generated from the Dorchester County transfer tax to pay costs associated
with school buildings, under specified circumstances and subject to specified
conditions.
House Bill 1537, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 898.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor

certain costs associated with school buildings.
