The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 859 - Anne Arundel County Code - 2005 Edition - Legalization.
This bill legalizes the 2005 Edition of the Anne Arundel County Code and any
supplement to the extent to which that Code or supplement contains laws enacted by
the General Assembly.
House Bill 471, which was passed by the General Assembly and allowed to go into
effect without my signature, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not
necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 859.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 859
AN ACT concerning
Anne Arundel County Code - 2005 Edition - Legalization
FOR the purpose of legalizing the 2005 Edition of the Anne Arundel County Code and
any supplement to the extent to which that Code or supplement contains laws
enacted by the General Assembly; and generally relating to the 2005 Edition of
the Anne Arundel County Code.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the 2005 Edition of the Anne Arundel County Code and any
supplement to the 2005 Edition of the Anne Arundel County Code, to the extent to
which that Code or supplement contains laws enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, is legalized. The 2005 Edition of the Anne Arundel County Code and any
supplement shall be deemed and taken in all the courts of the State and by all public
officials of the State and its political subdivisions to be evidence of the law enacted by
the General Assembly contained in the Code or a supplement to it.
