S.B. 684                                                  VETOES
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 684 - Real Estate Licenses - Reciprocity. This bill authorizes the State Real Estate Commission to deny, suspend, or revoke
specified licenses or reprimand specified licensees under specified circumstances;
prohibits the Commission from imposing a specified fine based solely on a specified
violation; and authorizes the Commission to issue a reciprocal license to specified
persons holding a license to provide real estate brokerage services in another state
and whose principal place of business is outside the State. House Bill 1107, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 684. Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
