Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 357 - Community Colleges - State Funding - Size Factor
Component.
This bill alters the Senator John A. Cade Funding Formula for community colleges to
allow colleges that are no longer eligible for funding under the size factor component
to receive a specified percentage of funding for a specified number of fiscal years; and
provides for the distribution of size factor component grants.
House Bill 533, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me,
accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 357.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 357

FOR the purpose of altering the Senator John A. Cade Funding Formula for
community colleges to allow certain colleges that are no longer eligible for
funding under the size factor component to receive a certain amount of funding
for a certain period; providing for the distribution of certain size factor
component grants; making stylistic changes; and generally relating to the
Senator John A. Cade Funding Formula for community colleges.
