Ch. 636                                    2006 LAWS OF MARYLAND (B) A BANKING INSTITUTION OR AN OUT-OF-STATE BANK MAY NOT
ESTABLISH OR MAINTAIN A BRANCH IN THIS STATE ON THE PREMISES OR PROPERTY
OF AN AFFILIATE IF THE AFFILIATE ENGAGES IN COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2006
is an emergency measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health or safety, has been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, and shall take effect from the date it is enacted. Enacted May 26, 2006.
