SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That it is the intent of the
General Assembly that the Governor shall include in the annual State budget an
appropriation for the Volunteer Company Assistance Fund.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 2006.

AN ACT concerning
Low Speed Vehicles - Slow Moving Vehicle Emblem - Application
FOR the purpose of providing that a requirement that certain vehicles display a slow
moving vehicle emblem does not apply to certain low speed vehicles; and
generally relating to low speed vehicles.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Transportation
11-130.1.
"Low speed vehicle" means a four-wheeled electric vehicle that has a maximum
speed capability that exceeds 20 miles per hour but is less than 25 miles per hour.
21-805.
(a) (1) This subsection does not apply to [vehicles]:
(i) [Used] VEHICLES USED by any utility in the construction,
maintenance, or repair of its facilities; [or]
