SECTION 3. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is contingent
on the passage of Chapter____ (S.B.____/H.B. __ H.B. 413)(61r1010) of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 2006, a Constitutional Amendment, and its ratification by
the voters of the State.
SECTION 4. 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the
provisions of Section 3 4 of this Act, this Act shall take effect on the date of
certification of the election results on the question of ratification of the Constitutional
Amendment by the voters of the State.

AN ACT concerning
Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties - School Buses - Length of
Operation - Sunset Repeal Extension
FOR the purpose of repealing extending the termination date for a provision of law
that authorizes conventional school buses that meet certain criteria to be
operated in Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties for a certain length of
time.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Chapter 420 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 2003
Section 2
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Education
7-804.
(b) (1) Except as provided in paragraphs (2) and (3) of this subsection,
unless it fails to meet the applicable school bus and motor vehicle safety standards, a
school vehicle may be operated for 12 years.
(2) (i) In Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester counties, unless it fails to
meet the applicable school bus and motor vehicle safety standards, a school vehicle
may be operated for 15 years.
