sums in the aggregate not less than the sum of three thousand dollars ($3,000.) in any
one (1) year; provided, however, that such payments shall be made only in the event
that the amounts received by said Clerk for the aforesaid purposes from fines and

Article 22 - Washington County
1-401.
The County Commissioners may empower the Sheriff to work, for any purpose
in addition to those specified in [Article 27, § 712 of the Annotated Code] § 9-503 OF
THE CORRECTIONAL SERVICES ARTICLE OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND,
prisoners who have been sentenced to the Washington Detention Center.

(b) Any payments shall be made only if the amounts received by the Clerk for
the purposes specified in this section from fines and forfeitures, as provided by
[Article 38, § 5 of the Annotated Code] § 7-507 OF THE COURTS AND JUDICIAL
PROCEEDINGS ARTICLE OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND, are insufficient
for those purposes.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the publisher of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, subject to the approval of the Department of Legislative
Services, shall make any changes in the text of the Annotated Code necessary to
effectuate any termination provision that was enacted by the General Assembly and
has taken effect or will take effect prior to October 1, 2006. Any enactment of the 2006
Session of the General Assembly that negates or extends the effect of a previously
enacted termination provision shall prevail over the provisions of this section.
