of Public Works, the grantee shall submit evidence satisfactory to the Board that none
of the proceeds of the loan or any matching funds have been or are being used for a
purpose prohibited by this Act.
(7) THE PROCEEDS OF THE LOAN MUST BE ENCUMBERED BY THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC WORKS OR EXPENDED FOR THE PURPOSES PROVIDED IN THIS ACT NO LATER
THAN JUNE 1, 2008.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2006.

(Senate Bill 985)
AN ACT concerning
Election Law - Baltimore City Board of Elections - Compensation for
Substitute Board Members and Election Judges
FOR the purpose of altering the compensation for the substitute members of the
Baltimore City Board of Elections and for election judges in Baltimore City;
prescribing minimum compensation levels for election judges in Baltimore City;
providing compensation for an election judge's attendance at a certain course of
instruction, subject to a condition; providing that this Act does not apply to the
salary or compensation of the incumbent substitute members of the Board; and
generally relating to compensation for substitute members of the Baltimore City
Board of Elections and for election judges in Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Election Law
2-204.
(b) (1) Consistent with paragraph (2) of this subsection, each substitute
member shall be compensated for each day of service as provided in the county
budget.
