Ch. 489 2006 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(I) DIRECT SUPPORT OR CARE TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE
DEPENDENT ON ALCOHOL OR DRUGS AS DEFINED UNDER TITLE 8 OF THE HEALTH -
GENERAL ARTICLE; OR
(II) FIRST-LINE SUPERVISION OF EMPLOYEES PROVIDING DIRECT
SUPPORT OR CARE TO INDIVIDUALS WITH ALCOHOL OR DRUG DEPENDENCY.
(e) "Program" means the Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health, Child
Welfare, and Juvenile Services Workforce Tuition Assistance Program.
18-2102.
(a) There is a tuition assistance program under this subtitle for use by
students at institutions of higher education in the State who:
(1) Work as direct service employees in a community—based program; or
(2) Agree to work as direct service employees in a community-based
program in the future.
(b) The Commission may adopt regulations:
(1) Necessary to implement this subtitle; and
(2) To establish standards and procedures for selecting award recipients
under this subtitle.
18-2103.
An award granted under this subtitle may be used for:
(1) Tuition and mandatory fees;
(2) Room and board; and
(3) Books and supplies.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October July 1, 2006.

Property Tax - Assessment of Conservation Property
FOR the purpose of altering the valuation and assessment for property tax purposes
of certain property subject to certain perpetual conservation easements under
certain circumstances; providing for a new subclass of real property for
