ROBERT L. EHRLICH, JR., Governor                             Ch. 481 12-106. (A)     Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a commissioner [or
employee], EMPLOYEE, CONTRACTOR, OR SUBCONTRACTOR of the WSSC may not
willfully and knowingly violate any provision of this title [or of], the Maryland Public
Ethics Law, OR THE REGULATIONS OF THE WSSC GOVERNING CONFLICTS OF
INTEREST, FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE, LOBBYING, AND ETHICS IN PUBLIC
CONTRACTING. (B)     A COURT MAY: (1)      COMPEL COMPLIANCE WITH AN ORDER OF THE WSSC BOARD OF
ETHICS OR WSSC REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST, FINANCIAL
DISCLOSURE, LOBBYING, OR ETHICS IN PUBLIC CONTRACTING BY: (I)      ISSUING AN ORDER TO CEASE AND DESIST FROM THE
VIOLATION; OR (II)     GRANTING OTHER INJUNCTIVE RELIEF; AND (2)      IMPOSE A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $5,000 FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS
TITLE OR WSSC REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST, FINANCIAL
DISCLOSURE, LOBBYING, OR ETHICS IN PUBLIC CONTRACTING. SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2006. Approved May 16, 2006.
CHAPTER 481
(House Bill 1080) AN ACT concerning State Board of Nursing - Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and
Medication Technicians, and Electrologists - Licensing and Regulation FOR the purpose of altering the powers and duties of the State Board of Nursing to
include setting the standards for the practice of certified nursing assistants and
certified medication technicians; authorizing the Rehabilitation Committee in
the Board to provide for the rehabilitation of or provide assistance to certain
medication technicians, electrologists, and certain applicants; altering the term
for the renewal of
certain requirements for sending renewal notices for certain
licenses and certificates; authorizing the Board to grant a certain extension to a
certain licensee or certificate holder for the renewal of a certain license or
certificate: authorizing the Board to send certain licensees and certificate
holders a certain advisory letter of education in certain circumstances;
authorizing the Board to send a certain advisory letter to a certain complainant
in certain circumstances;
authorizing the Board to make a certain letter - 2447 -
