(6) ANY UNSPENT PORTIONS OF THE ACCOUNT MAY NOT BE
TRANSFERRED OR REVERTED TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE STATE, BUT SHALL
REMAIN IN THE ACCOUNT TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED IN THIS
SECTION.
(B) THE HEALTH CARE QUALITY ACCOUNT FOR ASSISTED LIVING SHALL BE
USED FOR TRAINING, GRANT AWARDS, DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS, OR OTHER
PURPOSES DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF CARE.
(C) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL ADOPT REGULATIONS FOR THE DISTRIBUTION
OF FUNDS FROM THE HEALTH CARE QUALITY ACCOUNT FOR ASSISTED LIVING.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2006.

AN ACT concerning
State Retirement and Pension System - Disability Retirement
FOR the purpose of exempting from certain earnings limitations and certain
reemployment restrictions certain retirees of certain systems of the State
Retirement and Pension System; providing for the application of this Act; and
generally relating to retirees of the State Retirement and Pension System
receiving disability retirement allowances.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - State Personnel and Pensions
29-115.
(a) (1) This section applies only to a disability retiree who is not eligible to
receive a normal service retirement.
(2) [This] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (E) OF THIS SECTION,
