this subtitle, provided that the penalty imposed under § 7-266(b)(2)(i) of this article
may not exceed [$250] $500 per day for any violation of this subtitle.
(b) If an accredited supervisor falsely verifies that work was performed on an
affected property pursuant to § 6-819(f) of this subtitle, the owner of the affected
property who employs the supervisor and who has actual knowledge of the false
verification shall be subject to a civil penalty not to exceed [$15,000] $30,000.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 2006...

(House Bill 1451)
AN ACT concerning
Environment - Gas and Oil - Coalbed Methane Production
FOR the purpose of establishing the minimum required distance from an unleased
property boundary for a coalbed methane well; authorizing the Department of
the Environment to make inspections it determines necessary to ensure
compliance with certain requirements under certain circumstances; altering the
requirement that the owner of leased lands surrender the lands under certain
circumstances; defining a certain term; and generally relating to coalbed
methane production and gas and oil.
