Ch. 348                                    2006 LAWS OF MARYLAND (D) A PUBLISHER MAY NOT BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE AN ELECTRONIC COPY
OF ANY INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL COPYRIGHTED BEFORE JULY 2007.
SECTION 2. AND RE IT FURTHER ENACTED. That: (1) The Maryland Higher Education Commission and the Maryland
Department of Disabilities shall review the research and recommendations developed
by the Association of American Publishers' National Alternative Formats Initiative
regarding approaches and technologies to best provide textbooks to postsecondary
students with print disabilities. (2) On or before December 31, 2006, the Maryland Higher Education
Commission and the Maryland Department of Disabilities shall report to the
Governor and, in accordance with § 2-1246 of the State Government Article, the
General Assembly on procedures to ensure that postsecondary students with print
disabilities have access to instructional materials. SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 2006. Approved May 2, 2006.
CHAPTER 348
(House Bill 720) AN ACT concerning Office of Cemetery Oversight - Investigative and Enforcement Power -
Entities Without Registrations or Permits FOR the purpose of authorizing the Director of the Office of Cemetery Oversight to
take certain investigative and enforcement actions for certain violations under
certain circumstances; requiring an applicant for registration to be affiliated
with a registered or permitted business; extending the authority of the Director
to certain unregistered and unpermitted entities; requiring certain cemeteries to
maintain trust accounts; and generally relating to the operation of cemeteries
and burial goods businesses. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Business Regulation Section 5-204(b), 5-302, 5-310, 5-311(c)(1) and (g), 5-602(b)(l), (c), (d), (f), and
(g), 5-603(c), 5-604(a), 5-605, 5-606(a), 5-607, and 5-801(a), (g), and (h)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(2004 Replacement Volume and 2005 Supplement) BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
