CHAPTER 306
(House Bill 250) AN ACT concerning State Board of Barbers and State Board of Cosmetologists - Reinstatement of Expired Permits FOR the purpose of authorizing the State Board of Barbers and the State Board of
Cosmetologists to reinstate permits expired for a certain period of time if the
permit holder meets certain requirements; authorizing the Boards to establish
certain fees; specifying reinstatement procedures for certain expired permits;
and generally relating to the State Board of Barbers and the State Board of
Cosmetologists. BY adding to Article - Business Occupations and Professions Section 4-506.1 and 5-506.1 Annotated Code of Maryland (2004 Replacement Volume and 2005 Supplement) SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Business Occupations and Professions 4-506.1. (A)     THE BOARD MAY REINSTATE A BARBERSHOP PERMIT THAT HAS EXPIRED
IF THE OWNER OF THE BARBERSHOP: (1)      APPLIES TO THE BOARD FOR REINSTATEMENT WITHIN 45 DAYS
AFTER THE PERMIT EXPIRES; (2)      OTHERWISE MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF § 4-506(C) OF THIS
SUBTITLE; AND (3)      PAYS TO THE BOARD A REINSTATEMENT FEE ESTABLISHED BY THE
BOARD IN ACCORDANCE WITH § 4-206 OF THIS TITLE, IN ADDITION TO THE RENEWAL
FEE REQUIRED UNDER § 4-506(C)(2) OF THIS SUBTITLE. (B)     IF AN OWNER OF A BARBERSHOP HAS FAILED TO RENEW A BARBERSHOP
PERMIT AND APPLIES TO THE BOARD FOR REINSTATEMENT MORE THAN 45 DAYS
AFTER THE PERMIT HAS EXPIRED, THE BOARD SHALL REINSTATE THE PERMIT ONLY - 1725 -
