(i) the county or municipal corporation shall pay interest at the
rate the county or municipal corporation charges on overdue taxes; and
(ii) interest shall accrue from the date the application is filed with
the county or municipal corporation.
(i) Each county shall include information on the property tax bill about the
availability of the property tax exemption for disabled veterans and surviving spouses
authorized under this section.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That a surviving spouse who
qualifies for the property tax exemption under this Act based on the receipt of
Dependency and Indemnity Compensation as of June 1, 2006, has 3 years from the
effective date of this Act to apply for the exemption.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 2006, and shall be applicable to all taxable years beginning after June 30,
2006.

(House Bill 119)
AN ACT concerning
Garrett County - Paper Gaming and Bingo - Regulation
FOR the purpose of clarifying the identity of certain organizations that may engage in
paper gaming in Garrett County under certain circumstances; repealing certain
prohibitions against conducting or receiving proceeds from a certain number of
gaming events or raffles during a calendar year in which the major prize has a
certain value; repealing a certain penalty provision; authorizing the County
Commissioners to declare that each day a certain violation continues is a
separate offense; clarifying the identity of certain organizations whose members
may conduct and operate bingo games; repealing certain restrictions on the
value of major prizes awarded in bingo games; authorizing the County
Commissioners to adopt regulations that include age restrictions for
participants in any activity involving a gaming event or bingo; and generally
relating to paper gaming and bingo in Garrett County.
