SECTION 3. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect October July 1, 2006.

(Senate Bill 33)
AN ACT concerning
Nursing Scholarships - Part-Time Nurses - Waiver or Forgiveness of a Grant
FOR the purpose of requiring the Office of Student Financial Assistance to waive or
forgive a certain grant award for a part-time nurse at a certain rate; and
generally relating to the waiver or forgiveness of a grant award for a part-time
nurse.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

18-101.
(c) "Office" means the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
18-706.
(g) (1) The Office shall waive the repayment of a grant award for a:
(i) Full-time nurse at the rate of 1 year for each year that the
recipient performs the service obligation; or
