DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
Provided that the Maryland Department of
Agriculture (MDA) shall submit a report
to the budget committees by September
29, 2006, that compares and analyzes the
relationship between the State's fiscal
2007 legislative appropriation and the
budgetary and programmatic
recommendations released in calendar
year 2006 by the Agricultural
Stewardship Commission (ASC) and the
Maryland Agricultural Commission
(MAC). The report should include a
discussion of the feasibility and
anticipated programmatic and policy
impact of the ASC and MAC
recommendations as well as how the
recommendations would impact MDA's
performance goals and the State's
Chesapeake Bay Agreement goals. The
committees shall have 45 days to review
and comment on the report.
Further provided, $1,260,000 $1,060,000
$1,110,000 in general funds for the Cover
Crop Program is deleted from the budget
of the Maryland Department of
Agriculture.
