952 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(1)   120 DAYS AFTER ANY DISAPPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION;
OR (2)  THEY ARE AMENDED AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (D) OF
THIS SECTION. (C)  REGULATIONS ADOPTED PURSUANT TO THIS TITLE AFTER
DECEMBER 31, 1983, SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE 60 DAYS AFTER
SUBMISSION TO THE COMMISSION UNLESS DISAPPROVED BY THE COMMISSION
PRIOR THERETO. (D)  EACH SCHOOL BOARD MAY AMEND REGULATIONS PREVIOUSLY
ADOPTED BY THE BOARD PURSUANT TO THIS TITLE. AN AMENDMENT
BECOMES EFFECTIVE 60 DAYS AFTER SUBMISSION TO THE COMMISSION
UNLESS DISAPPROVED BY THE COMMISSION PRIOR THERETO. 6A-501. (A)  THE COMMISSION SHALL, UPON REQUEST BY A SCHOOL BOARD,
ADVISE AND ASSIST THAT BOARD IN PREPARING REGULATIONS THAT COMPLY
WITH THIS TITLE. (B)  (1) THE COMMISSION MAY DISAPPROVE REGULATIONS ADOPTED
UNDER THIS TITLE OR AMENDMENTS THERETO: (I)  WITHIN 60 DAYS OF SUBMISSION BY THE SCHOOL
BOARD; AND (II)  ONLY ON THE GROUND THAT THEY ARE NOT IN
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH THIS TITLE. (2)  THE COMMISSION SHALL PROMPTLY NOTIFY THE SCHOOL
BOARD OF ANY DISAPPROVAL. (3)   IF REGULATIONS ARE NOT DISAPPROVED PURSUANT TO
THIS SECTION, THEY SHALL BE DEEMED APPROVED.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Education [5-111. (a) In this section, an individual is considered   to have a direct financial interest in a contract or purchase   in which a county board is a party if the contract or purchase     is to be
consummated between the county board and: (1) The individual, his spouse, or his dependent
child;
