CHAPTER 221
(House Bill 507)
AN ACT concerning
St. Mary's County - Interest on Unpaid Taxes
FOR the purpose of altering in St. Mary's County the rate of
interest on taxes due but unpaid in order to eliminate an
inconsistency with public general law.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
The Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 19 - St. Mary's County
139-2.
A. The Treasurer shall be furnished an office in such place
or places as the County Commissioners may determine.
B. On all taxes after the first day of October succeeding
the day of their levy, due and unpaid, interest shall be charged
at the rate of [one-half of one percent (1/2 of 1%)] TWO-THIRDS
OF 1 PERCENT per month.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.
