SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Education
22-103.
(a) The [Secretary of Public Safety and Correctional
Services] STATE SUPERINTENDENT shall appoint a director of
educational programs FOR CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS [in the
Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services].
(b) The director shall receive the salary provided in the
budget of the Department [of Public Safety and Correctional
Services].

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

CHAPTER 187
(House Bill 222)
AN ACT concerning
Use Tax - Vessels
FOR the purpose of altering the period of time that certain boats
brought into this State may remain without becoming subject
to the Use Tax; and exempting from the Use Tax certain
vessels that are purchased or acquired by nonresidents of
this State and are stored, maintained, or repaired , or
under a work order for a certain period of time within the
State.
