SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative
Departments
117B.
Any [parole agent or] sheriff or police officer authorized
to serve criminal process, to whom a warrant for the retaking of
an alleged parole violator shall be delivered, is authorized and
required to execute such warrant in accordance with the
directions contained therein.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

AN ACT concerning
Mental Health - Admissions - Elderly Persons
FOR the purpose of providing that the provisions of law, which
require that persons who are 65 years of age or older must
be evaluated by a geriatric evaluation team to determine
whether there is no available, less restrictive form of
adequate care or treatment before admission, apply only to
certain facilities and hospitals; and making this Act an
emergency measure.
