SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:
Article 23A - Corporations - Municipal
17B.
(A) THE DEPARTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE SHALL COMPILE
THE CHARTERS OF ALL MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS IN THIS STATE INTO A
SINGLE PUBLICATION.
(B) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL UPDATE THE COMPILATION OF CHARTERS
ON A REGULAR BASIS.
17C.
AT LEAST ONCE EACH YEAR THE DEPARTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE
REFERENCE SHALL FORWARD ALL DOCUMENTS THAT IT RECEIVES UNDER THIS
ARTICLE TO THE HALL OF RECORDS COMMISSION FOR PERMANENT RETENTION
AND STORAGE.
19.
(p) The chief executive and administrative officer of a
municipal corporation which has enlarged its corporate boundaries
under the provisions of this section shall promptly register both
the original boundaries and the new boundaries with the clerk or
similar official thereof, with the clerk of the court in the
county or counties in which the municipal corporation is located,
with the [State agencies] DEPARTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE as
provided in § 9A of this article, and for those municipalities
lying within the regional district, with the Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission. Each such official shall
hold the registration of boundaries on record and shall make it
available for public inspection during all normal business hours.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.
