SECTION 7. 8 AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the increase
in the taxable wage base to $7,500 beginning January 1, 1984,
shall have no force and effect after December 31, 1984. On that
date, the wage base shall revert to $7,000 or the federal
standard effective on that date.

SECTION 6 8. 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect June 5, 1983.

(House Bill 1443)
AN ACT concerning
Creation of a State Debt - Maryland Industrial Development
Financing Authority Authorized Purpose Insurance Fund Loan
of 1983
FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State debt in
the amount of $5,000,000 $4,000,000, the proceeds to be used
to provide moneys for the Authorized Purpose Insurance Fund
to be used by the Maryland Industrial Development Financing
Authority for the purposes prescribed for the Fund in the
Maryland Industrial Development Financing Authority Act;
providing that the passage of this Act is contingent upon
the passage of at least one other certain Act; and providing
generally for the issue and sale of bonds evidencing the
loan.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:
(1) The Board of Public Works may borrow money and incur
indebtedness on behalf of the State of Maryland through a State
loan to be known as the Maryland Industrial Development Financing
