AN ACT concerning
Unemployment Insurance - Additional Benefits -
Maximum Benefit Amount and Contributions
FOR the purpose of increasing the weekly benefit amount; raising
the taxable wage base; limiting the surtax for State fiscal
year 1984; placing a cap on contributing employers' rates
for State fiscal year 1984; making permanent extending the
Additional Benefits Program; clarifying eligibility; making
additional benefits chargeable to employers based on
experience ratings and payable without regard to the
expiration of the benefit year; requiring payment of
regular, extended and federal supplemental benefits prior to
payment of additional benefits; providing for an automatic
"off" trigger when 52 weeks of unemployment insurance
benefits are available, excluding additional benefits;
setting forth a strict work search requirement; and
requiring public announcement of the occurrence of "on" and
"off" indicators for the program; and generally relating to
the State Additional Benefits Unemployment Insurance
Program.
