(House Bill 439)
AN ACT concerning
Contracts for Public Works
FOR the purpose of providing that the State Prevailing Wage Law
applies to wages paid to workmen and apprentices employed in
certain public works construction projects when the State
provides 50 percent or more at least a certain amount of the
funds for the project. project; altering the definition of
the terms "prevailing hourly rate of wages," "prevailing
hourly wage rate," "prevailing rate of wages," "prevailing
wage rates," "prevailing hourly wage," "prevailing wage,"
"rate of wages" and "wage rates"; adding the definitions of
"weighted average wage" and "locality"; providing certain
standards for making prevailing wage rate determinations in
certain localities; providing for certain prior notice of
determinations; providing for an effective period for
determinations and for the making of certain determinations;
and generally providing for the application of the State
Prevailing Wage Law and the determination of prevailing wage
rates.
