RESOLUTION NO. 5-82 FIFTH 1982 ANNEXATION A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAUREL BY
THE ADDITION THERETO OF SECTION NO. 217, ENTITLED FIFTH 1982
ANNEXATION, PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
KNOWN AS APPROXIMATELY 17.6660 ACRES ON SANDY SPRING ROAD AND FOR
THE PLACING OF SAID PROPERTY IN THE R-55 ZONE. [Section 217 of the Charter of the City of Laurel, Prince
George's County, added. Effective Date December 24, 1982]
LEONARDTOWN (St. Mary's County) RESOLUTION NO. 5 TO INTRODUCE RESOLUTION TO ADD NEW SECTIONS TO THE CHARTER
OF THE TOWN OF LEONARDTOWN TO PROVIDE FOR THE ENLARGING OF THE
CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWN OF LEONARDTOWN BY THE ANNEXATION
OF 289 ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, BORDERING ON THE WESTERLY
BOUNDARY OF THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF LEONARDTOWN. WHEREAS, a Petition has been presented to the Commissioners
of Leonardtown proposing to enlarge the corporate boundaries of
the Town of Leonardtown so as to include an area encompassing 289
acres of land, more or less, bordering on the Westerly boundary
of the corporate limits of the Town of Leonardtown, and WHEREAS, the signatures on said Petition have been verified
and it has been ascertained that the persons signing the said
Petition represent at least twenty five per centum (25%) of the
persons who reside in the area to be annexed, who are registered
voters in County Elections and who are the owners of Twenty five
per centum (25%) of the assessed valuation of the real property
located in the area to be annexed, and, WHEREAS, from the provisions of Section 19(c) of Article 23
(a) of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended,
it is mandatory that the following resolution be introduced
proposing the change of boundaries as requested by the Petition.
