St. Mary's County - Enforcement of Road Ordinances
and Regulations
FOR the purpose of providing that St. Mary's County may establish
a civil penalty for violations of road ordinances and
regulations; providing that a citation issued to a person
believed to have committed a violation shall contain certain
information; providing for a maximum penalty; providing that
a person issued a citation may elect to stand trial in
District Court if notice of such intention is given to the
county before a certain date; providing that all penalties
and fines collected from violators by the District Court
shall be remitted to St. Mary's County; conferring
jurisdiction over certain civil violations in the District
Court; and generally relating to enforcement of the road
ordinances and regulations of St. Mary's County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 25 - County Commissioners
10-I.
(a) The County Commissioners of St. Mary's County may
regulate any public road, street, avenue, lane, alley or bridge,
sidewalk, curb, gutter, and storm drainage facilities within St.
Mary's County which is not within the corporate limits of any
incorporated city or town and which has not been designated or
maintained as a part of the State or federal highway system or
any extension with respect to:
(1) The weight of vehicles;
(2) The parking of vehicles;
(3) The abandonment of vehicles;
