AN ACT concerning
Racing - Appointment of Commissioners
FOR the purpose of altering the eligibility criteria for
appointment of persons to the Maryland Racing Commission.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 78B - Racing Commission
Section 2(a)(2)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1980 Replacement Volume and 1982 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 78B - Racing Commission

(a) (2) No person shall be eligible for appointment or
shall hold the office of commissioner or be appointed by the
Commission, or hold any office or position under the Commission,
who holds any official relation to any association or corporation
[engaged in or] conducting racing within the State of Maryland,
or who holds stock or bonds therein, or who has any pecuniary
interest therein.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.
