(House Bill 619)
AN ACT concerning
Queen Anne's County - Department of Public Works
FOR the purpose of repealing a requirement that the Department of
Public Works in Queen Anne's County administer and enforce
rules and regulations relating to building and plumbing
codes; and generally relating to the duties of the
Department of Public Works in Queen Anne's County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 18 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
17-2.
The Department of Public Works shall:
(1) Construct and maintain county water mains,
sewers, drains and culverts;
(2) Construct, maintain and operate county sewage
disposal and treatment plants;
(3) Collect garbage and other refuse, and operate and
maintain facilities for their disposal in accordance with
policies and ordinances adopted by the County Commissioners;
(4) Construct, operate, maintain and control county
water supply systems and fire hydrants;
(5) Administer and enforce the rules and regulations
relating to water and sewer systems and perform such other duties
which were not otherwise fixed by this chapter or the County
Commissioners;
[(6) Administer and enforce rules and regulations
relating to building and plumbing codes;]
[(7)](6) Administer and enforce rules and
regulations relating to dogs and the dog warden;
