(6) No portion of the proceeds of the loan or any of the
matching funds may be used for the furtherance of sectarian
religious instruction, or in connection with the design,
acquisition, or construction of any building used or to be used
as a place of sectarian religious worship or instruction, or in
connection with any program or department of divinity for any
religious denomination. Upon the request of the Board of Public
Works, The City Temple of Baltimore shall submit evidence
satisfactory to the Board that none of the proceeds of this loan
or any matching funds have been or are being used for a purpose
prohibited by this Act.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1983.

CHAPTER 592
(Senate Bill 217)
AN ACT concerning
Creation of a State Debt - Mount De Sales Academy
FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt in
the amount of $100,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant
to Mount De Sales Academy for the purpose of restoration and
renovation of the Mount De Sales Academy building; subject
to the requirement that the Mount De Sales Academy provide
at least an equal and matching fund of a certain kind for
the same purpose by a certain date; providing that certain
easements be granted to the Maryland Historical Trust;
providing that no proceeds of the loan or any of the
matching funds may be used for religious purposes; and
providing generally for the issue and sale of bonds
evidencing the loan.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:
(1) The Board of Public Works may borrow money and incur
indebtedness on behalf of the State of Maryland through a State
loan to be known as the Mount De Sales Academy Loan of 1983 in
the aggregate principal amount of $100,000. This loan shall be
evidenced by the issuance and sale of State general obligation
bonds authorized by a resolution of the Board of Public Works and
issued, sold and delivered in accordance with the provisions of
§§ 19 to 23 of Article 31 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1976
Replacement Volume and 1982 Supplement, as amended from time to
time).
