Department of Natural Resources; requiring a power dredging
license for certain people who catch oysters under this Act;
defining a certain term; providing a certain fee for this
license; providing for the return and exchange of certain
oyster licenses; providing a time for taking oysters under
this Act; providing for a certain oyster catching season
under this Act; providing certain catch limits; providing
for certain sizes of power dredges; allowing the Secretary
of Natural Resources to adopt certain rules and regulations
to change the provisions of this Act under certain
conditions; providing certain penalties for violations of
this Act; generally relating to the catching of oysters with
a power dredge in Somerset County; and making this Act an
emergency measure; and providing that this Act shall
terminate on a certain date.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Natural Resources
4-1001.
(a) In this subtitle, the following words have the meanings
indicated.
(f) "Dredge" includes any dredge, scoop, scrape, or similar
device used in catching oysters or clams by dragging.
