SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
[35.
If it shall appear from the written application for a
trader's license that the amount of the applicant's stock in
trade does not or will not exceed one thousand dollars, the sum
of fifteen dollars shall be demanded and received by said clerk
from said applicant before granting the license applied for.]
35. 55A.
(A) BEFORE ISSUING A TRADER'S LICENSE AS PROVIDED IN THIS
SUBTITLE IN BALTIMORE CITY, THE CLERK SHALL COLLECT A FEE TO BE
DETERMINED BY THE AMOUNT OF THE APPLICANT'S STOCK IN TRADE.
(B) (1) IF THE AMOUNT OF THE APPLICANT'S STOCK IN TRADE
DOES NOT OR WILL NOT EXCEED $1,000, THE FEE SHALL BE $15.
(2) IF MORE THAN $1,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $5,000, THE
FEE SHALL BE $50 $30.
(3) IF MORE THAN $5,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $10,000,
THE FEE SHALL BE $100 $60.
(4) IF MORE THAN $10,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $50,000,
THE FEE SHALL BE $250 $120.
(5) IF MORE THAN $50,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $100,000,
THE FEE SHALL BE $750 $300.
(6) IF MORE THAN $100,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $300,000,
THE FEE SHALL BE $1,500 $750.
(7) IF MORE THAN $300,000 AND NOT MORE THAN $750,000,
THE FEE SHALL BE $2,500 $1,200.
(8) IF MORE THAN $750,000, THE FEE SHALL BE $3,500
$1,700.

If more than one thousand dollars and not more than fifteen
hundred dollars, the sum of eighteen dollars.]
[37.
If more than fifteen hundred dollars and not more than
twenty-five hundred dollars, the sum of twenty dollars.]
