|
(1) Upon two stores or more but not to exceed five
stores, the annual license fee shall be [five dollars] $20
for each such store;
(2) Upon each store in excess of five, but not to
exceed ten, the annual license fee shall be [twenty dollars]
$89 for each such additional store;
(3) Upon each store in excess of ten, but not to
exceed twenty, the annual license fee shall be [ one hundred
dollars ] $400 for each such additional store;
(4) Upon each store in excess of twenty, the annual
license fee shall be [one hundred and fifty dollars] $600 for
each such additional store. The term "store" or mercantile
establishments as used herein shall not be construed to include
automobile service stations at which the principal business is
the sale or distribution of gasoline and motor fuel.
(B) IN BALTIMORE CITY, THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEES SHALL BE AS
FOLLOWS:
(1) ON 2 TO 5 STORES, $10 FOR EACH STORE;
(2) ON 6 TO 10 STORES, $40 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL STORE;
(3) ON 11 TO 20 STORES, $200 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL
STORE; AND
(4) ON EACH STORE IN EXCESS OF 20, $300 FOR EACH
ADDITIONAL STORE.
64.
Upon such application, the said clerk shall demand and
receive from said applicant the sum of [twenty-five dollars] $100
before granting said license, and in all cases the said trader
shall post the said license in a conspicuous place in his place
of business; and in the event the sale of cigarettes is made
through vending machines, the clerk shall issue the license in
the name of the owner of the machines, who shall display said
license on the premises where the machines are located. The
license must show the address of the premises where the machines
are to be located. The failure of any such person or corporation
to procure said license, or to comply with regulations issued by
the State Comptroller, shall be a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction such person or corporation shall be fined one hundred
dollars.
160.
(a) No (1) EXCEPT IN BALTIMORE CITY, NO person, firm,
company or corporation, resident or nonresident in this State
shall keep a garage for the hire, storage or sale of automobiles
until they shall first have obtained a license therefor, and
