LAWS OF MARYLAND
CHAPTER 524 (Senate Bill 232) AN ACT concerning Dorchester County - Oysters - Patent Tonging FOR the purpose of prohibiting a person from catching oysters
with patent tongs in certain waters of the Chesapeake Bay
adjacent to Dorchester County. BY adding to Article - Natural Resources
Section 4-1011(f)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1982 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows: Article - Natural Resources 4-1011. (F) A PERSON MAY NOT USE PATENT TONGS TO CATCH OYSTERS IN
WATERS OF CHESAPEAKE BAY THAT ARE ADJACENT TO DORCHESTER COUNTY
AND THAT LIE GENERALLY EASTWARD AND NORTHWARD OF A LINE DRAWN IN
A SOUTHEASTERLY DIRECTION FROM THE SOUTHERNMOST TIP OF BARREN
ISLAND TO RICHLAND POINT ON HOOPER ISLAND.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983. Approved May 31, 1983.
