SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
2.
For the purposes of this article and unless otherwise
required by the context:
(a) "Alcoholic beverages" means alcohol, brandy, whiskey,
rum, gin, cordial, beer, ale, porter, stout, wine, cider, and any
other spirituous, vinous, malt or fermented liquor, liquid, or
compound, by whatever name called, containing one half of one per
centum or more of alcohol by volume, which is fit for beverage
purposes.
(b) "Beer" means any brewed alcoholic beverage, and
includes beer, ale, porter and stout.
(d) "Wine" means any fermented beverage, including light
wines, and wines the alcoholic content of which has been
fortified by the addition of alcohol, spirits or other
ingredients.
218.
(A) (1) A PERSON MAY NOT SELL OR OFFER FOR SALE AT RETAIL
IN THIS STATE ANY METAL BEER, WINE, OR OTHER ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
CONTAINER OR ANY COMPOSITE BEER, WINE, OR OTHER ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES CONTAINER THAT IS DESIGNED AND CONSTRUCTED WITH AN ALL
METAL TAB OPENING DEVICE THAT DETACHES FROM THE CONTAINER WHEN
THE CONTAINER IS OPENED IN A MANNER WHICH IS NORMALLY USED TO
EMPTY THE CONTENTS OF THE CONTAINER.
(2) THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBSECTION DO NOT PROHIBIT
THE SALE OR OFFER FOR SALE OF:
