19-349. NOTICE OF INCREASE IN CHARGES.

AT LEAST 45 DAYS BEFORE A RELATED INSTITUTION INCREASES
ANY FEE OR CHARGE FOR A SERVICE OP THE RELATED INSTITUTION,
THE RELATED INSTITUTION SHALL GIVE EACH RESIDENT OR THE
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE RESIDENT WRITTEN NOTICE OF
THE AMOUNT OF THE INCREASE.

43, § 565H.

Defined term: "Related institution" § 19-301

19-350. ITEMIZED FINANCIAL STATEMENT.

(A)  SCOPE OF SECTION.

THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY TO:

(1)  RELATED INSTITUTIONS THAT ARE CLASSIFIED AS
NURSING HOMES; AND

(2)  HOSPITALS THAT ARE NOT OPERATED BY THIS
STATE OR ANY OF ITS POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS.

(B)  HOSPITAL STATEMENT ON DISCHARGE.

ON DEMAND OF AN INDIVIDUAL MADE WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER
DISCHARGE OF THE INDIVIDUAL FROM A HOSPITAL, THE HOSPITAL
SHALL GIVE THE INDIVIDUAL A FINANCIAL STATEMENT THAT:

(1)  IS ITEMIZED; AND

(2)  DESCRIBES BRIEFLY BUT CLEARLY EACH ITEM AND
THE AMOUNT CHARGED FOR IT.
