(1)  TO CARRY OUT ITS POWERS UNDER SUBSECTION (A)
OF THIS SECTION, THE COMMISSION MAY REVIEW AND APPROVE OR
DISAPPROVE THE REASONABLENESS OF ANY RATE THAT A FACILITY
SETS OR REQUESTS.

(2)  A FACILITY SHALL CHARGE FOR SERVICES ONLY AT
A RATE SET IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SUBTITLE.

(C) ALTERNATE RATESETTING METHODS.

TO PROMOTE THE MOST EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE USE OF
HEALTH CARE FACILITY SERVICES AND, IF IT IS IN THE PUBLIC
INTEREST AND CONSISTENT WITH THIS SUBTITLE, THE COMMISSION
MAY PROMOTE AND APPROVE ALTERNATE METHODS OF RATE
DETERMINATION AND PAYMENT THAT ARE OF AN EXPERIMENTAL
NATURE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as
Article 43, § 568U(a), (b), (c), and the first
sentence of (d).

Throughout this section, the former effective
dates are deleted as obsolete.

In subsection (b)(1) of this section, the phrase
"carry out its powers under subsection (a) of
this section" is substituted for the phrase
"properly discharge these obligations", because
the word "obligations" refers to a duty, while
subsection (a) of this section provides for
"powers".

In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the phrase
"in accordance with this subtitle" is substituted
for "in accordance with the procedures
established hereunder" to reflect § 19-217(b) of
this subtitle, which enables the Commission to
define classes of charges that require approval
and, therefore, implies that certain charges may
be set without review.

The only other changes are in style.

§ 19-209 of this subtitle.
