AS OF JULY 1, 1982. THE TERMS OF THOSE MEMBERS END AS
FOLLOWS:

(I)  4 IN 1983;

(II)  4 IN 1984;

(III)  3 IN 1985; AND

(IV)  5 IN 1986.

(3)  AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO
SERVE UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.

(4)  A MEMBER WHO IS APPOINTED AFTER A TERM HAS
BEGUN SERVES ONLY FOR THE REST OF THE TERM AND UNTIL A
SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.

(5)  A MEMBER WHO SERVES 2 CONSECUTIVE FULL
4-YEAR TERMS MAY NOT BE REAPPOINTED FOR 4 YEARS AFTER THE
COMPLETION OF THOSE TERMS.

(6)   IF A VACANCY OCCURS, THE GOVERNOR PROMPTLY
SHALL APPOINT A SUCCESSOR.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) and (b)(1), (3), (4),
(5), and (6) of this section are new language
derived without substantive change from former
Article 43, § 884(c), (d), and the first
sentence, except the parenthetical phrase of that
sentence, the first and second clauses of the
third sentence, and the entire second and fifth
sentences of (b).

Subsection (b)(2) of this section is new language
added to reflect the continuing stagger created
under the third and fourth clauses of the third
sentence and the entire fourth sentence of former
Article 43, § 884(b), which specified the initial
terms of the members and which are deleted as
obsolete.

In subsection (a)(2)(i)3. of this section, the
reference to the "Johns. Hopkins Medical
Institutions" is substituted for the "Johns
Hopkins Medical Institution". The reference
"Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions" is a
designation that is used, in practice, to denote
collectively the Johns Hopkins Hospital and 2
schools of the separate, corporate entity, the
Johns Hopkins University.

In subsection (a)(2)(i)9. of this section, the
obsolete reference to the "Citizens Advisory
Council of the Maryland Comprehensive Health
